Secure Systems Infrastructure

All data stored in a secure "bunker" providing safety; not exposed to the threat of risk or loss.

The entire REMS server farm is located at a purpose built highly reliable data center collocation facility in downtown Miami, Florida. This facility provides three primary features: physical security, physical reliability, and data reliability.

The building, located outside the FEMA 500-year flood zone, is rated Hurricane Category-5, and inside a dual power grid area. Access to the building is secured via a cleared entry list at a 24 hour manned security desk, single floor access based on building clearance, separate biometric/security card is required to gain access to the data center, with further locked cage and rack entry.

The REMS datacenter provides multiple physical reliability features

In additional to the dual power grid, the building receives power feeds from three substations. Multiple Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) maintain power to the datacenter at all times. A dedicated generator, with auto start, will provide power, without refueling, for seven days.

An external fuel tank permits refueling while the generator is in operation. Multiple air conditioners maintain datacenter temperature and humidity. All systems are monitored 24 hours a day.

Data reliability is achieved through redundant core routers in the datacenter with connectivity to twelve major global carriers, several of which are located within the same building. Dual Internet ports provide redundancy to the REMS server farm.

REMS is deployed on the most advanced servers

Our servers all feature redundant power supplies, multiple CPUs, redundant network interfaces, and hardware RAID logical drives.

Out-of-band system management provides the ability to remotely monitor and control the server hardware regardless of the state of the operating system.

System backups are handled by an autoloader tape loader using a daily rotation. Additionally, all databases are backed up online with the backup folder being replicated to two servers, one onsite and one offsite.

Inbound data to our network is controlled via hardware firewall limiting access to only those servers and features required to conduct business. All server Internet access ports are scanned quarterly by a third party service to insure and maintain Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security.
